Josh Yorgason, M.D.
Dr. Josh Yorgason is a board-certified otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon. He has additional fellowship training in otology, or ear surgery, and has performed hundreds of ear surgeries, including cochlear implants. He has received specialty training in sinus surgery and sleep medicine and has developed minimally invasive approaches to relieve nasal obstruction to optimize sleep and sinus function. He enjoys working with kids and adults.
Dr. Yorgason started the Balance, ENT & Sleep Treatment Center to provide a comprehensive and modern approach to treating ear, nose, and throat disorders that affect quality of life. He was born and raised in Utah and is happy to return after practicing out of Utah for the past 10 years. He has over 20 years of experience in medicine and over 15 years of experience as an ENT surgeon.
Dr. Yorgason obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees from Columbia University in 2000 and Columbia College of Physicians in New York City in 2004. He completed his ENT residency at the University of Utah in 2010, and went on to complete an advanced otology/neurotology fellowship at the world-renowned Paparella Ear, Head and Neck institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2013.
Dr. Yorgason has started and chaired several cochlear implant programs, including for Sanford Health, the Paparella Institute, and Arizona Otolaryngology Consultants. He helped run the ear fellowship training program at the Paparella Institute from 2016 to 2020. In 2019, he founded the MN Ear & Sinus Center, where he continued his ear surgeries and worked to develop minimally invasive ear and sinus procedures. He partnered with ADVENT to perform surgeries for patients with sleep apnea who had failed CPAP and other options. He briefly lived in sunny Arizona, where he worked with Arizona Otolaryngology Consultants performing pediatric ENT surgeries, as well as ear and sinus surgeries for adults. For the past year Dr. Yorgason has been working with Arizona Breathe Free Sinus and Allergy Centers as their otologist, and to further develop minimally invasive techniques to treat the septum, turbinates, and sinuses, including balloon sinuplasty and eustachian tube balloon dilation.
Dr. Yorgason is excited to return to Utah to be close to family and to share his medical and surgical expertise with patients in the Salt Lake and Utah Valleys.
